Speaker 1:

Live from the Saints headquarters in Tolleson, Arizona, spreading the gospel, equipping the Saints, standing for the word of truth, proclaiming God's grace. Now, on a podcast near you, welcome your host, Pastor Joshua, on the Saints Will Overcome Ministries.

Speaker 2:

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. This is Pastor Joshua Kapia. I am back. I am putting the pedal to the metal. I am battling the enemy on his own territory. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome. We are back on.

Speaker 2:

The Saints have Overcome Ministries. It's been a while since I've been on, probably about four months. I've been really busy doing some things. Right now I'm preaching around the valley, like I say in Arizona. I've just finished a new book and I want to promote that book. This book is called the American Jesus America's Quest to Redefine the Savior. And this is a very important book because I deconstruct the American myth. We spend over a billion dollars a year marketing the way the Savior looks, the way the Savior looks.

Speaker 2:

Preachers at the pulpit attach Jesus to material well-being. For example, I was in a church recently and the pastor started preaching about how many houses he owned and how many houses you should own in the audience and he owns two businesses and how many cars you should have. And I've been traveling around churches around and noticing this American mindset of Jesus, connected directly to the idolatry of materialism, and it's destroying our country, it's destroying families, it is creating a vacuum where love is not involved anymore. It's one of the most terrible things I've ever seen which is happening in the church, and a lot of theologians will say you know what, pastor Joshua? I don't believe this is the time of the apostasy just yet. I do believe it's time of the apostasy because love has grown cold and people hear what they want to hear, like the Bible says. Look at the political rift in our country and, ladies and gentlemen, bear with me because I got a political show too, but I'm not getting into politics.

Speaker 2:

This is a Bible show, because I've got a political show too, but I'm not getting into politics. This is a Bible show. Look at the rift between Republicans, democrats, independents and Libertarians. Look at the ascension of Trump and I don't care who you vote for, but on the right, they believe they're so right that Trump is almost a godlike figure and he's becoming an idol and has become an idol and a messenger of Christ to a lot of people. And that's not what the Bible says and we'll get into that in a future show. And on the left, joe Biden, the Democrats, things up like transgenderism, gender reassignment for children, basically assaulting God in the schools by taking him out and indoctrinating children.

Speaker 2:

We get people that defend that narrative on that side and they call themselves Christians with the most abhorrent demonic practices, such as abortion, and they don't repent.

Speaker 2:

But then on the right you get a godlike status, cutting programs, stripping things away from the poor. Now you know why Jesus said Render to Caesars. What is Caesars? And what I'm trying to convey, ladies and gentlemen, is you're not going to get your answer from Donald Trump, joe Biden, kamala Harris, mitt Romney. You name the politician and I would advise not to worship that politician and not to consume yourself with the politician.

Speaker 2:

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a king and that king is Jesus Christ, and I want to go back to the churches that I have been experiencing. I've went to a few churches. I've sat down, I've examined them, I've heard them preach the word. I do have a master's in arts and ministry, with a major in counseling. I am going for a doctorate degree and I've sat there and I went to three separate churches and asked to be used and I was blocked and it was a terrible thing. When they found out later who I was, of course they wanted to use me. I moved on. Me and my spouse were at another church and we're trying to get a feel for this church, but we recognize that the churches have directly, directly, paired themselves with running it as a business.

Speaker 2:

And I believe the business model is what is destroying the churches in America. I believe that's why infidelity is so high, why Christian membership is at an all-time low, that people don't really want to show up anymore. And not just that. I believe that that's why a lot of Christians simply don't get anything out of church anymore. The most prominent thing, which is the reading of Scripture, the teaching of Scripture, hell, repentance, that God is the most glorious King that's ever existed, because he created everything the heavens, the earth, the animals, love. And I believe that has been removed in a sense, not focused on, ladies and gentlemen, and the main focus has been the business. And the gospel has been completely watered down. And how do we fall in love with God? By communicating with him through the Holy Spirit, by reading his beautiful word, ladies and gentlemen church is not about the music Church, is about the scripture.

Speaker 2:

So I break these things down the american jesus, america's quest to redefine the savior. I would say go on amazon and buy it, because it supports the ministry. It's right around 25. It's very, very important that I continue this work. I've been extremely busy. I write, I publish everything myself. I I'm independent. I would ask that you please support the ministry. Thank you very much and I appreciate you, but let's move on to a subject I really want to talk about, and what I want to talk about is the book of Revelations, and the reason why is a lot of people fear that the end is near. Let me repeat that A lot of people fear that the end is near. As I was driving home from work yesterday, it's almost like I could barely get home without having someone almost assault me in their vehicle. If you notice, there's a spirit of anger that has permeated like I've never, ever witnessed before. I'm 45 years old and I've never experienced this. I'm young compared to a lot of my listeners. Are we in the end? What does revelations mean? What is God trying to reveal?

Speaker 2:

I want to go through the entire book of Revelations, ladies and gentlemen, from beginning to end and I want to take maybe a year to do so. I believe this is important and I was going to continue through the book of Matthew, but I truly believe that we are at a time where I don't know how long everything's going to be. The parousia, the second coming of Christ, who knows Love, has grown cold In a time in this world I've never experienced so many agitated humans. I want to confess some things and tell you what's on my mind before we jump into this, because it's only going to be about a 15-minute show and then're going to move on, and my next show will come on pretty soon I've noticed a spirit of anxiety, I've noticed a spirit of depression, I've noticed a spirit of anger. I'm actually writing a book and it's going to be called something like how to Be Grateful to God and Accept His Grace, because we don't know how anymore.

Speaker 2:

And I just told a gentleman recently if you don't protect your morning with God, the devil will steal your day. And I was having a conversation with a young gentleman and I said you know what I believe blasphemy is? Everybody has a different answer and a lot of people, historically, historians will say well, that's an ongoing rejection of the Holy Spirit not coming to Christ, as the Christ is walking the earth proclaiming the new kingdom, and that is blasphemy. But I believe there's other forms of blasphemy.

Speaker 2:

Ladies and gentlemen, I want you to be aware of something I believe when you wake up in the morning and the first thing a person does before their feet hit the ground is curse the world, how bad it is, how bad their job is, how terrible management is, how terrible their spouse is, how terrible their children are, how much they are displeased with life, I believe that is Satan whispering in people's ears. And I'm going to tell you why I call it blasphemy. Because if God gives us an opportunity to wake up and enjoy the things that we have our family, our loved ones, our blessings and we're focused on cursing those blessings, how do we commune with God? How are our spirits connected? I believe that we're blaspheming the Holy Spirit because we fail to recognize everything God does for us during the day. So, ladies and gentlemen, I challenge you when you wake up in the morning before your feet hit the ground and your eyes even open is praise God for all of His gifts. If we don't, somebody else will ask us to condemn them.

Speaker 1:

And that one person is.

Speaker 2:

Satan, abaddon, the enemy, and I know this because I've been a minister for very many years, and it's rare now that I hear somebody outside of the church extolling somebody that has virtue, loving their neighbor, believing that hating the enemy is not a good thing, and trying to reach their enemy. Christ said walk an extra mile, carry their stuff, those that burden you. He said it for a reason, because hate and anger cripples every single one of us and Satan will use that transgenerational trauma to captivate us, to keep us captive and try to control our mind. And that's why the Bible says we renew our mind. We have to renew our mind constantly, ladies and gentlemen. So I want to challenge you to praise God for everything, and that's why I believe the book that I wrote, the American Jesus America's Quest to Redefine the Savior, has done a job. Referring to America, a terrible job is creating a sense of God within the self, self-centeredness, a business model an apostate model and condition us to worship materialism subconsciously, which pours out in very, very negative ways.

Speaker 2:

Let me make this clear the gates of hell will never prevail against the church. Jesus Christ promised a church will prevail and it will always, always prevail. I'm just one that believes. In America, it's very few churches.

Speaker 2:

Ladies and gentlemen, I do love you, I appreciate you and I want to dive into a few verses before I close out this show, and I want to talk about revelations, and so when we look at revelations, I'm going to read the first verse, which is called the prologue, and here we go, verse one, the revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place.

Speaker 2:

Now let's stop right there, because we have a few views about soon. One of these views is called the partial preterist view, and the partial preterist view believes that the things that John is writing about is going to take place before AD 70, when Titus sacked Jerusalem, general Titus, the Roman general, and they believe, these partial preterists, which I'm sympathetic to that view, and I'll just be honest that Revelations is written for a near time, a soon time that needs to be fulfilled, not a later time, and the futurists believe that soon and near is in the sense of God's economy and understanding and vision and that soon and near could take place thousands of years later. Historicists believe that this plays out through church history, the entire book of Revelations, and a lot of them believe that the Catholic Church was the beast was the main focus of the Antichrist, that the Pope is an Antichrist, and that's what the historicists believe.

Speaker 2:

Idealists believe that the so-called Revelations has to do with ideas and the struggle of the church and the beast always attacking the church and the church having to defend herself and persevere through martyrdom and circumstance. And I am sympathetic to that view because I believe I'm not an idealist. But at the same time, I believe that the idealist still tries to get an understanding that of all ages things are applicable, and I would be sensitive to that notion too, because we're going through some certain things right now, as the first century church was going through. I just read an article on Fox News that in Africa, I think 80 people were martyred. Their heads were cut off. Christians, people were martyred, their heads were cut off, christians, they sacrificed their lives. The same thing that's happening in Revelations right here. So persecution, martyrdom, destruction. The devil, the enemy, is still active and still destroying today, ladies and gentlemen. So we're reading this and let's continue to read this.

Speaker 2:

He made it known by sending his angel to his servant, john, who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw.

Speaker 2:

Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear and who keep what is written in it.

Speaker 2:

The time is near, and so this letter is being disseminated in the churches of Asia Minor and the letter says hey, blessed are those who hear it's a beatitude and keep what is written, like on the Sermon on the Mount. For the time is near, and I believe that this revelation is given by Jesus Christ himself and, as his prophecy unfolds, he's telling everybody in this church, in these churches around Asia Minor the time is near, and I believe in this case, near means near, not in the futurist sense, not in the historicist sense and not in the idealist sense, but I believe in the historic sense of the preterist view, which means it's happening now, like it's going to happen. This is going to be what it is, and we have to make sure that we understand this as a church, because the time is near. But at the same time, the time is near right now, in a sense that when tribulation comes and destruction comes, and if a global war happens, whether it's Putin, china, the Americas, whatever happens, it's going to almost resemble a degree of this.

Speaker 2:

So I don't like to box myself in as a theologian. What I like to say is we are on the brink of ending the world every day as humankind, and we need to understand this and get closer to Christ. So these letters, this letter, is going out okay, and the time is near and we will unfold and unpackage what that time is. Greetings to the seven churches. Theologians believe that there is probably more than seven churches, maybe 13 to 16 churches, but these are the main churches that Revelations mentions John to the seven churches that are in Asia. Grace to you and peace from him, who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne. Now.

Speaker 2:

This is expressing the Trinitarian aspect of God, of Jesus Christ, because it's talking about who is always been established from eternity past and who is to come and who was meaning he's not a finite being. God, jesus the word for the incarnation was always there and the seven spirits before his throne, which they think that might be the sevenfold spirits of God and that resembles his attributes and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead and the ruler of the resurrected himself. God resurrected him. Jesus is God cloaked in the human flesh, and only Jesus had the ability to do these things and raise himself from the dead. From eyewitness accounts to prophecy fulfilled, to archaeological evidence, to manuscript evidence, that's what separates our Christian Bible from anyone else, ladies and gentlemen. So this is an introduction before we get into real Bible prophecy and what is going to happen in the end times.

Speaker 2:

These end times are scary and I believe that I was asked by a person recently do you believe everything in Revelations has been fulfilled? And I said absolutely not. I believe the majority has. But I believe a great pain and suffering and tribulation is going to come. The Bible says, revelation says that the earth will end in fire. We don't know if that's fiery judgment, in the sense of jesus christ coming in his second coming, or we don't know if that is a cataclysmic event that will destroy the face of the planet like a nuclear war of all, uh, basically volcanic activity. We just don't know. Or just a cataclysmic event where all the elements combined a land, sea and air, which would just be devastating to us.

Speaker 2:

But I want to continue reading for you, ladies and gentlemen, to him well, let's back up a little bit, ladies and gentlemen, show me, but the time is near and I want you to remember that. To him, who loves us and who has freed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom of priest, his God and father. To him be the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. Behold, he is coming with the clouds and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him and all the tribes of the earth will well on account of him Even so, amen.

Speaker 2:

So, as John is writing, he's saying that we will all see Christ again and, if you notice, only those that have been freed from their sins by his blood, that accepted Christ and said you are my king, I accept you, I love you, you have died for my sins. Save me. I am a wretched man, I am a wretched woman. Those people will not have nothing to fear, but the people that do have something to fear will go to hell, and that hell is a description in the Bible by our Lord and Savior, jesus Christ, which we don't even know what it is.

Speaker 2:

I don't know what it is, ladies and gentlemen. We know that it's an eternal separation. I go through this chapter in my book called Hell is for Real and I try to explain some of the views passed down through church history, because a lot of preachers say is for real. And I try to explain some of the views passed down through church history, because a lot of preachers say well, you know what, pastor, they tell the audience. Well, christ taught twice as much on hell than heaven. But he really didn't. That's a myth.

Speaker 2:

If you read the Bible, we know virtually nothing. Christ virtually taught nothing. We know the place where the worm never dies, gnashing of teeth, the second death, the lake of fire, but we really don't know about these things. In a sense they were hidden from us. But we know they're absolutely real.

Speaker 2:

So I go through that in the book that I've written to a degree and I'll expound on that in an abridged edition a little bit later, but I want to continue reading. So those people have nothing to fear, that are covered by the blood. He will come in clouds. I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord, god, who is, who was and who is to come, the Almighty, and I want you to think about it the Alpha and the Omega.

Speaker 2:

Many of you know this is the beginning of the Greek and the ending of the Greek alphabet, and he's using this as an object lesson to say I am everything. There is no beginning, there's no end to me. I create everything and I know everything. I make things happen, I know what's going to happen. I'm not the god of the deists that believe I wind a clock and step out of history in the space-time continuum. I am god that makes everything happen. This is how a god. This is a God that we serve, that is involved, that is interactive in our life, that loves us. Vision of the son of man.

Speaker 2:

John, your brother and partner in the tribulation, and the kingdom and the patient endurance that are in Jesus was on the island called Patmos, on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. I want you to stop right there and pay attention to this verse. John is saying that he is a partner in the tribulation, emphatically expressing that the prologue everything before that builds up to this is telling his readers in the churches I am in the tribulation right now with you. The persecution is happening right now. The Romans are trying to destroy us and trying to destroy the kingdom of Christ. So he's saying to endure in the kingdom and the patient endurance that are in Jesus was on the island called Patmos, on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. I was in the spirit on the Lord's day and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet saying and these are Jesus's words write what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus and to Smyrna, and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea. So as John was exiled for the purpose of Christ, christ says it's time to reveal, it's time to unveil, it's time to unfold the prophecy about the end of the world. Ladies and gentlemen, it's time that the people understand what is happening and what is going to come.

Speaker 2:

So what I want to do is stop right here. I just wanted to give a brief introduction. Of course, I could have gave a more thorough introduction, but I want you to think about this into the next show. There are those that believe that revelations is going to happen many, many, many years from now and at the same time, ladies and gentlemen, we have to understand that these paradigms don't necessarily dictate the Bible. The Bible dictates the paradigms and I want you to understand that we're all waiting for the second coming of Christ. We need to be prepared for the second return. Ladies and gentlemen, please support the show. I ask you, please, god bless you, buy the book. It's on Amazon. I have two books out right now. This is Pastor Joshua Kapia saying I love you all Until the next time. God bless you.
